Tribute to Arthur Gibson

Farewell to Arthur

There was a full turn out for Arthur Gibson’s memorial Service on Thursday 16 June 2022. This was not very surprising given the many lives of villagers that Arthur had touched in his 16 years in the village. His amiable and generous nature was frequently commented on by attendees and his many contributions to village organisations also mentioned.
After the service his life continued to be celebrated in a crowded village hall where a grand
afternoon tea was provided.

The following letter has been received by the Newsletter from Audrey and Family:

“Thank you all for making Arthur’s farewell the best that it could be. The whole day was at Arthur’s
request, as always organised to the last detail!
The service and wake were a real celebration of Arthur’s life and his love for this village.
Special thanks must go to our dear friends who generously provided, and served, the delicious feast,
not to mention serving Arthur’s own wine. Thank you also for the wonderful cards that have been a
real comfort to me.”
